If you’re planning a seasonal day out, or a trip to London to take in the lights and the sights, we’ve a few recommendations that we think will get you feeling extra festive!

Head down to the V&A, where you can visit a real life gingerbread town. Perfect if you are bringing children along, and a welcome change from the usual visit to Father Christmas. (Sorry, Santa!) There are plenty of beautiful Christmas windows to peek in on during your strolls around London, one of our favourites being Selfridges - this year their theme is Glam Rock, and features A LOT of velvet. Needless to say, we love it.

We know that sometimes a blood sugar low can kick in after a trudging all over town, no matter how much we love Christmas shopping! So if you need a little sustenance, we highly suggest high tea. (Our favourite spot is the Pret-a-Portea at the Berkeley, but there are so many beautiful cafes and hotels in London you’re sure to find somewhere divine.) If you’re looking to book an evening meal with friends or family, Petersham Nurseries in Covent Garden is perfect. You can browse their Christmas shop which is full to bursting with insta-worthy decor ideas, and then sit down for dinner in their incredible restaurant.

Don’t forget to make time for a little romance this season too. Activities for two are a lovely way to wind-down and have some festive fun in the city. Our top three recommendations for couples would have to be a romantic stroll through the colourful enchanted woodland at Syon Park, skating at the National History Museum ice rink, or taking in the lights at Conduit Court in Covent Garden. We hope you have a wonderful Christmas, and if you do try out any of our suggestions, please don’t forget to share your photographs with us!
